Affordable energy through grid independence.
Our core offering is simple: solar-plus-storage systems that let clients generate and store their own power, slashing energy bills and reliance on the grid. Verified carbon credits come as a bonus on top.
The core offering
Own your power. Cut your costs. Leave the grid behind.
Every UtCS system is engineered to move clients from grid dependence to energy independence — the carbon credits it generates are the icing on the cake.
How independence is delivered
Generate
On-site solar produces clean power
Store
Batteries hold energy for anytime use
Save
Cheaper, predictable bills — off the grid
Earn (bonus)
Verified carbon credits layered on top
Our capabilities
Solar PV generation
Turnkey rooftop and ground-mount solar that generates clean power on-site — the foundation of energy independence.
Battery energy storage (BESS)
Storage that captures daytime generation for use around the clock, maximising self-consumption and keeping the lights on during outages.
Energy efficiency
Demand-side upgrades that cut the amount of energy a site needs in the first place — deepening savings and independence.
Grid-independent system design
Engineered so generation and storage cover the bulk of demand, minimising — and in cases eliminating — reliance on the utility grid.
Bankable savings model
Transparent, long-term energy-cost modelling so owners and financiers can see the payback and the ongoing savings clearly.
Carbon credits (bonus)
Verified emission reductions issued under Verra and Gold Standard — a valuable extra revenue and ESG layer on top of the energy savings.
The law is on our side
Mauritian legislation already lets consumers go off-grid.
UtCS Sustainable Energy (Mauritius) Ltd operates within a clear, enabling regulatory framework — the same framework that gives homes and businesses the right to generate, store and self-consume their own power.
Governs generation, distribution and supply in Mauritius, and empowers the regulator to license — or exempt — small-scale household and business self-generation.
The Central Electricity Board's Small Scale Distributed Generation scheme lets renewable systems interconnect and feed back to the grid under a dedicated Grid Code.
Bidirectional metering allows consumers to offset consumption with their own generation — the legal mechanism that makes stepping off the grid viable today.
Indicative summary of the applicable framework (Electricity Act 2005 and CEB distributed-generation schemes). Scheme capacities and tariff windows are periodically updated by the CEB; UtCS confirms current eligibility on a per-project basis.
The bonus layer
Carbon credits issued under recognised international standards.
Because every system is metered, the emission reductions it delivers can be certified and monetised — extra value that sits on top of the core energy savings.
